I think the problem is this:
Group I
There are those who never read the Bible and let others interpret it for them.
They are only exposed to the part of the Bible that they are told about and they cannot be sure that it is interpreted correctly.
Group II
There are those who read the Bible, but they do not systematically read the Bible making notes and correlating facts and principles as they read.
They are not building the big picture in their mind.
They build their belief system around the parts of the Bible that they have read.
Group III
There are those who read the Bible, make notes, build the big picture and have developed a personal relationship with God and His Son, Jesus the Christ.
Group IV
There are those who get all their religious information from websites that attempt to cast doubt on what the Bible says.
These groups will never get together due to the differences in what they believe the Bible says.
The solution to this problem is for people to earnestly seek God, read His word, pray for interpretation, and submit to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
The job of the church is to work with these different groups to bring them to a full and common understanding of what God is telling us through the Bible.
Witchcraft is mentioned in the Bible, and it says rebellion is witchcraft.
And stubbornness is idolatry.

The answer to your question starts in Genesis chapter 3 where we read how mankind fell to the seductive lies of Satan and desired to be like God. This is the starting source of our emnity with God.
The ultimate source of hatred is our spiritual state - a desire to be gods, and thus we turn against the only one who can save us from that. We reject anything that could knock us off our own little world view - and sometimes violently react - in what we call hatred to anything/anyone that threatens our self conceived deity.
It is only through realization of our state, and through acceptance that we cannot be gods - that God alone is God - that we can truly come to the point you mention in your question - to seek to harm none other, to help any and all people - regardless of their condition, position, location, belief.... even if they would seek to harm you...
You state that we grow in understanding: remember that the Bible also states that there is nothing new (Ecclesiastes) under the sun. That the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Finally, the Bible mentions that followers of God can expect persecution and hatred from the world - and they are to continue on in spite of it, even to pray for those who would harm them.

When I first read your question (without the comments) I had a very reasonable one word answer; IGNORANCE.
Then I read your comments, and it seems to me that you are just as ignorant as any other person out there. That or you aren't making a whole lot of sense. How does having a religious or spiritual belief put others in harms way? And if I am reading this correctly (which is difficult with your grammar), why do you believe that Christians don't do this?
It seems to me that you are a very mixed up person. Please talk to your preist, preacher, rabbi, whoever your spiritual guide is, as they will hopefully have enough common sense, life experience and faith to put you back on the right track.

We can't get along because Christians seem to think that everyone needs to convert and that they are the be all and end all.
Your statement that every philosophy stems from the bible is nonsense. The bible stems from older traditions, including Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek. Furthermore, there are independent religions which have nothing to do with the biblical tradition.
Ignorance is bad enough. Wanting everyone else to accept ignorance is intolerable.

Your comment of "As for you who practice all that other stuff" is interesting. Do you think it's possible that lumping people into a category like you just did is a part of what perpetuates hatred? It certainly doesn't come across as you trying to grow in knowledge and understanding of other cultures.
We all can believe in the God, or Gods, or lack of God, that is best for us. I respect your right to believe in what you feel is best for you. Please allow those who practice "all that other stuff" to do the same. If you do, there might just be a little more knowledge and understanding, and a little less hatred.

Well the Bible I read and the God I serve tell me to love all people regradless of race, color, creed or belief. The same reasons you look down on other relegions are the same reason they look down on you. I respect the fact that people want to "save" each other but It should be by showing just how good a person you are. You do that by having respect for all people and by not force feeding them your beliefs. Millions of people have been killed on both sides. Until we stop hurting and killing each other in God's name I doubt most of us will be going to heaven.

There is only 1 religion that promise many virgin if you die protecting your religion. That is ISLAM.
All the WAR are started by ISLAM, Other than that religion are try to protect them self. Other religion are not allow violent and are not going to sitting arround wait for the attack. Other religion are full of love, kindness, peace and forgiveness but that not mean you can kill them what ever and when ever you want.
As you know all the terrorist/mujahidin/jihadist are GOOD MUSLIM. That is true. So do you want to sit down and wait or you stand up and protect against other attack that is not hate.

Knowledge and understanding is nothing without altruism, patience and subdued ego. So therefore you're still going to get hatred and so on... oh and witchcraft was around long before the Bible was ever written... Catholicism simply took ritual and called it "mass".

Yes, we continue to grow in knowledge and understanding, but it's human knowledge. The only way to end hatred is to have true knowledge and understanding of the one true source of love, God the Father through our Savior Jesus Christ. May God lead you and bless you richly with His wisdom.

Wow, this thread has to be the biggest contradiction I have ever seen. You are completely ignorant, the Bible itself stemmed from pagan traditions and ideals.
In terms of authenticity, Christianity is about the last place I'd look.
