Pay your bills. Pay them on time. Don't take out anymore credit or debt. Keep your balances low. Ask for lower interest rates. And then finally....STOP USING CREDIT! It gets you no where. Why pay for a "privilege" to borrow someone elses money when you should be saving up to buy things on your own. Sooner or later you're going to have to pay for the item anyone....and even more because of the interest. Good luck!

If you are looking for the responsible way of doing this, and you are looking at the big picture over a long period of time, then the best way to fix your credit is to start with getting your annual credit report. Look over your report to ensure that everything that is reporting is in fact your responsibility. If you find anything on there that does not belong to you contact the credit bureaus and have them remove it through their dispute process.

Next, take a look at any negative information you have on your report. See if you can identify anything that is not reporting accurately. If, for example, you have late payments showing but you know that you made the payment on time, dispute that as well.

Now look for patterns in your payment process. Look to see where you are having a problem making payments on time. Is it in the middle of the month, at the end, in the beginning? See if you can adjust your payment schedule to get those bills paid at a time of month that is easier for you. For example, if you are paid on the first and fifteenth of each month, try to have your largest bills paid around those dates and arrange for your smaller bills to be paid during the times when the money is tighter. This helps you in another way that is just as important in the bill payment process as actually paying the bills. It helps you change the way you feel about paying the bills. If you pay your rent or mortgage in between pay days, it feels like there is more money going out than coming in. But if you make those payments when there is a cash surplus, you will feel better about making the payment knowing that there is plenty of money to cover the debt.

Most people don't understand that finance management is just as much about your attitude towards fiscal responsibility as it is about actually paying your bills. People who are stressed and have a negative attitude toward paying their bills are more likely to have late payments, defaults, and other negative information on their credit reports than people who have a neutral or positive attitude.

Anyway, this is a place for you to start.

Everyone has answered correctly so far... pay your bills, outstanding loans, etc. and this will start to repair your credit in time. If you decide that you need to repair it quickly, then you can call a credit repair company. They cost money, but will get it fixed. You could try http://creditrepair.divinfo.com/

You can do the same thing that all these credit counselors do. Contact all lenders you owe outstanding balances to, see if they'll settle, then pay! EASY!!!
