Is there a way to open a personal bank account with no ss#

Yes, i came here as an international student and i opened a student checking account at bank of america and at that time i did'nt get my ss# yet. They just needed proof of my passport.

I don't believe it is possible. New laws under the Patriot Act require banks to ensure that they know the people they open bank accounts for. This requires a SSN and some for of identification. I believe that the law is the same, regardless of what state you live in.

Not that I'm aware of. You'll need to have some sort of proof of identity, although for immigrants I'm sure there is a way around that legally, like with your visa or passport.

You can get a ITIN (Individual taxpayer Identification Number) if you don't have a SS#.

it depends,if your from different country you need show passport, that will take care, else if your from here you need SSN for sure.
go better apply it takes about 2-3 weeks to get one.

Not quite sure about that. I know you will definitely need a State ID, though.
