I have a 2 yr old son who discovered the flavor of just about every item he has seen lol.....it's natural, some kids learn by sight, some by touch, and ours by taste....just make sure anything harmful is out of reach.

Don't worry. It's a phase she's going through. Kids love to lick and put everything in their mouth. Eventually she will lick something that's not tasteful and will quit licking things. Just be careful as to certain things she may lick may be dangerous for her. Don't force her to stop....Just tell her that licking is for lollipops and other foods and not for people and animals. She will stop on her own....Hope this works for you.

my daughter does that sometimes to immitate the cat. Irritating, but just tell her what is for licking (lollipops, popsicles, stamps, etc.) then tell her what is not for licking (mommy, daddy, kitty, etc.) Don't laugh when she does it either. That was my big problem. She got a reaction out of me and continued it!

My daughter and son did that too. They would then go to licking other things. They eventually break it. My son licked a pole that had ice on it - that broke his. Hang in there.

My 10 month old licks the floor/carpet at stores if we don't stop him. Kids learn by putting things in their mouths.

my daughter does that too... but she's only 2 months.

i think it's gross... she'll lick anything and everything she can get her mouth on. she was licking her daddys chest and got a sick chesthair in her mouth.

ahhhhhh

it's very normal though. kids learn what things are by what can go in their mouth.

She's in simple terms exploring and it particularly is truthfully generic. do no longer attempt to end it, inspire it. Google "chew tubes for little ones" or "amber teething necklaces". they seem to be a brilliant concern for little ones who're orally retentive and ought to chew or mouth issues to fill a choose.

yes, she is exploring. It is gross though, maybe teach her what to lick and what not, I hear it is normal for them to lick you though, taste tells them a lot.

Try putting something on her tongue that tastes terrible everytime she licks.

Don't react when she does it anymore. Just pretend like it never happened.
