Appearance is very important. Most people may not want to admit it, but when a person first meet you, they only see and know your outer covering. Please do not put your whole life around your looks, you want to be presentable, but don't over do it. Because true beauty is only skin deep.

Appearance counts 100% when meeting someone for the first time, whether it's in a bar, the grocery store, or jogging in the park. Anyone who tells me that's not true needs to ask themselves if they regularly approach people they do not find attractive, and ask them out in hopes they have a great personality.
However, when it comes to someone you've known for a while, appearance might not count for a whole lot. I've known guys that I didn't find attractive in the beginning, but after we'd been friends for a while, their looks kinda grew on me until I started thinking they were pretty hot. Someone you really like as a person, can become attractive to you.
In the long run though, no matter how great your appearance is, if you're a Grade A A**hole, your looks won't help you much.

In my opinion it can only get you so far. I think personality is far more valuable. I mean everyone likes a good looking gf/bf but at the end of the day its about compatiablity and personalities working together to make a good couple. Looks are really only important for first impressions at least to me. I would say I am pretty attractive myself and attract a good amount of guys but really I don't look for just looks if i am looking for a mate. I like to think I give everyone an equal try.

if u talkin bout physical aspects...i dont think it counts much...not even in 'love at first sight', coz its the positive vibes that u tend to send n ppl alike tend to recieve..it can sometimes b a wierd combo like a immensely sexy guy with a plain lookin girl...but what makes him b with her..ITS HER PERSONALITY.n personality to me is ur attitude, ur values...confidence counts alot (OVER CONFIDENCE IS a DOUBTLESS TURN OFF)..infact to me more than looks...dressin sense leaves an impression...
u cn't be with a guy\girl who shows lotta attitude no matter how handsome\beautiful he\she is
so looks dont matter at least to me...n not to others who are not blind..dont gimme this **** that love is blind...IT IS NOT

Think about people you see, what do you think about them based on how they are dressed/groomed? Do you make first impression judgments? Now you have the answer to your question.
