"ORLANDO, Fla. - AirTran Airways on Tuesday defended its decision to remove a Massachusetts couple from a flight after their crying 3-year-old daughter refused to take her seat before takeoff".
I said GOOD, I am sick of bratty, spoild kids.

Yeah, and if something would happen duing take off to that kid, they would sue the air company.

Totally agree with the airline's decision. 112 people are supposed to wait for a bratty child to calm down? AirTran offered the family free roundtrip tickets for 3 times in the future to anywhere the airlines flies. The father said he would never travel on AirTran again. The airline' offer was more than they had to and they do have to abide by FAA rules.

Good for AirTran. I'm sure that couple would have a different opinion if it had been someone else's child. Why should the airline compromise the other 112 peoples travel plans/schedules for a 3 year old child? And yes, if something happened to the child during takeoff, the parents would have another version of the story.

Fantastic! Good for them. There is nothing worse for all concerned, passengers and crew, than a screaming kid. It tests the patience of the most tolerant people.
But certainly, when it is a question of safety like this - simple. Everyone has to follow the rules. I would say that this couple have a problem with that child if, as the question says, "their daughter refused to take her seat". Something needs to be done quickly so that the child learns that she will do as she is bloody well told.

The plane can't leave if someone is not seated. What else where they going to do? There are many other people on the plane who needed to get to their destination in a timely fashion.

I do hope that they put them on the next flight after the kid settled down.
