You need to take the dog to another vet and get a second opnion, and take a sample of his poop with you (in a Ziploc bag) for testing. He may have an infection or an ulcer. Take his temperature (rectally); anything over 102 is not good.

In the meanwhile, stop feeding him for 24 hours to give his tummy a chance to calm down, then put him on a bland diet of boiled rice and hamburger.

It may be the food your're giving him , maybe it's too harsh. call another vet and tell them your breed and ask for a suggestion for dog food. Also, to help him keep it down use 1 part plain yogurt to 3 parts dog food. don't let it sit out, throw it away if he doesn't eat it all. It coats his tummy and makes it not so hard to digest. Also do this when you are changing food and slowly work off of the yogurt. It works, my vet told me to do it and it's worked for at least 5 of my dogsswitching from puppy food to dog food, like a charm. i highly recommend it. Maybe you could give us more info? is he teething? What dog food is he on? how much does he eat? how old is he? Etc.

just let him fast... is what he would do in nature. if our dog barfs it is usually because she ate some crap or something on a walk (or maybe drank out of a ditch-- her favorite thing after a rain) and a day without food (water in her dish only) and she is as good as new with a real hefty appetite. A fast allows the body to do its clearing (vomiting is a cleanse-- get this foreign junk out NOW) and healing.

All the best!

You got the dog, now you should spend the money to figure out what's wrong.

It could be as simple as a "sensitive stomach" or more complex like an allergy or illness.

Your vet knows more than both you or me and if you are a caring loving, which you wouldn't be asking if you weren't,pet owner as you are then stick with the vet.

Unfortunately, you need to go with the x-rays. Constant vomiting is a HUGE sign that something is wrong...posibly with his intestines since they want an x-ray.

i DONT REALLY RECOMEND THIS BUT WHEN MY GRANDMAS DOG HAD CANCER HE VOMMITED ALOT AND MY UNCLE USED TO BLOW MARIJUANA SMOKE IN HIS FACE AND IT HELPED HIM EAT AND GET AN APPETITE. ITS YOUR DOG THOUGH.....WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM ITS HARD TO SAY. MAYBE HE ATE SOMETHING AND HAS A ABSTRUCTED BOWL. ASK ABOUT THAT!
