I would say around 1 1/2 - 2 months. That way the mom-to-be has time to go get anything else she may need that she doesn't already have or get at the shower, and also it isn't last minute in case the baby comes early.

It depends...
I had my shower a month adn a half after she was born. I had a lot of the furniture and stuff given to me by my sister. Plus, we spent a month in the hospital after her birth. It's also nice because you know the sex of the baby, and everyone gets a chance to meet the baby.
If you need a lot of the basic stuff that the baby will need, then I would recommend having your shower at 8-9 months. You don't want to be too huge to put all the furniture together, but you want to make sure your ready for the baby to come home.

Most showers are usually between the 7th - 8th month. This gives the mom-to-be time to find out the sex of the baby (if they are going to) and by that time your belly will be showing for sure! It also gives you a little time after to exchange/return things you don't want.
I was due Dec 21st, and had my shower on Nov 5th. It gave us plenty of time :)
Good luck!

A friend usually handles a baby shower for you after the time when you may abort, usually after 6 mos. pregnancy.
Otherwise, it would be very upsettting to lose a baby and have all this baby stuff around.

It is a good idea to wait unitl you are closer to the delivery date. 7 or 8 months is appropriate.
