It usually depends on your plan. For example, I have so many free text messages per month, I get charged for anything over that amount. I have no idea how much I am charged for additional texts because I am old enough that I'd rather just talk on the phone than text....I'm too slow!! Contact your service provider.

There is usually a small fee from the cell phone company, something like 10 cents per text message out going and 20 coming in. It really depends on which service you use. I would check on your providers website. They also usually have plans of between 100-300 text messages a month for a fixed price of 3.99-5.99 a month, or in the case of T-Mobile the have and unlimited plan

If he refused to show you the messages you should have a talk with him. Face to face would be best if at all possible. He may be hiding something from you. You two should be able to trust each other and tell each other anything. He is clearly trying to keep something from you if he didn't trust you enough to see those text messages. He doesn't sound honest or trustworthy at all. Of course, I may be wrong. Maybe it is nothing, maybe it is just a friend, but you need to talk to him to find out the truth. Politely bringing it up will work better in getting an answer than getting mad at him at him and raising your voice etc. Best of luck <3

Usually, calling/texting mobile to mobile (meaning within the same carrier) is free. There are some contracts that do not allow free mobile to mobile calling/texting. I believe the cheapest monthly contract with Cingular doens't allow this. But it usually is free. Why? Im not sure, but it makes sense not be charged if you're contacting someone with the same cell phone company. If you DO get charged, it depends on your carrier. I have verizon and the contract I have gives me free mobile to mobile, + a limit of 700 texts that I can send to anyone out of Verizon. If I exceed that limit, I get charged $0.10. I believe they just changed it to $0.15. It really all depends on which carrier you're with, and what plan you have. You should ask your company or check what features are included in your plan by logging into your account online.

Entirely depends on what tariff you're on with your phone provider.
With the tariff I have at the moment, I get 500 free text messages every month, but after that I pay 14 pence per text if I am texting within this country.
If I'm abroad, my texts home cost a lot more.

You really got to go to www.peekamo.com and register for their free service. At peekamo, you can send free TXT messages to anyone in the USA and Canada from your desktop. You don't need to know their carrier or anything. Best part is that it is free, for you and the person receiving the TXT msg. Peekamo uses SMPP not SMTP. You don't have to worry about spam either. You can create groups too. I'm from Canada where if you don't have a plan, TXT messages to the US can cost upto 15cents! Check it out - it really works and its really free. and no spam at all.
Why pay the telco's when you don't have to right!

It depends on who your carrier is and if the person you are sending messages to is on the same carrier or with another one. Most carriers have plans where you can pay a flat rate for unlimited text messages (sometimes only to other people with the same carrier). With most companies, you also pay to recieve text messages. It adds up!

The cost depends on which phone company you are using. Check with them to find out.
Also be aware of texting while abroad. It can be very, very expensive.

This is not a health issue. Contact your cellular provider to find out what each message is costing you. They are not free.
