Well, I knew I'd hear from the pro-illegals, both about God made this world, we can live any place we want, and the old it was not your country first. And still I wait, so all illegals, where are you, where is your good answer.

If our government turns a blind eye to the people who circumvent the system, then I don't blame them for wanting to be here and claiming it as a "right". Laws don't have much impact if they're never enforced.
That said, the illegal immigrants have as much right to be here as we have the right to pick up and move to their countries. Which is to say, none. Almost every other nation on this planet controls its immigration much better than the US. If we don't have the right to just up and move to their country, how is it their right to just up and move to ours?
To Jo - it's NOT the same thing. Some people stood in line for days, months, years even, to get their papers to come to the US. Many people spent lots of money on immigration lawyers to get the right papers filled out and everything. I've heard stories of people visiting the US Embassy every day trying to get a visa to come here. That's a lot of work these people do. And it means absolutely JACK to do things the right way if we're just gonna allow people to jump the border without papers. Those papers mean you have the right to be here. Without those papers, there is no "right" to come to the US.

When your ancestors came to North America did they ask themselves if they had a right to immigrate to a territory that was already occupied by native peoples? I presume that illegal immigrants want to better their lives. Personally I disagree with what they do. I disagree with anything that is unlawful. I can't see that even they believe that they have a right to be in the USA, except, perhaps the ones in California.

No, I don't think anyone has said illegal immigrants have any right to be in the USA.
Many who empathize with illegal immigrants merely say that they are human beings who deserve to be treated with compassion.

Oh my god.......another "patriot". Look - we all live on a big, round world. Why can't people see themselves as a member of the human race, rather than part of a country or nation? After all, you're only part of that country because your parents did, ahem, well you know.....there. Still feel so proud?

We are born here you are not. It is the same in your country. It is a right not everyone is privileged to be in this country. Would you like every terrorist to be in this country?
