I had a very bad abscess which needed a root canal. The dentist opened up the tooth & let it drain. This alone caused me the most severe pain I have ever had @ the dentist. Because the pain was so bad when I went back to finish the tooth I had an anxiety attack and did could not finish the RC. Because I had several (5) abscess teeth I decided to go to an Endodontist (they had IV sedation & my dentist didn't) & have all of them done at once. Long story short the Endodontist missed this tooth and it was not completed. I then called my dentist to have them finish it (since I had already pd them) & they didn't want to mess with it-said to go back to Endodontist. The problem is that I pd $700 to the 1st Dentist, & finally had to go to another dentist who did complete it, but cost me another $757. Can I get my $ refunded from the 1st Dentist who only did 1/2 the treatment (but I pd for the complete root canal)?

you should send them a letter along with the receipt from the enododontist and demand your money back. take them to small claims court if they refuse to help you.

You may not get a full refund since some work was done, but they should give you part of it back. Call the dentist office and ask the office manager.

9LIVES HAS THE BEST ADVICE. MAKE SURE YOU SEND COPIES OF EVERYTING AND SEND IT MY MAIL CERTIFIED RETURN REQUEST.
I WOULD IMAGINE THIS DENTIST SHOULD GIVE YOU A REFUND FOR WORK SOMEBODY ELSE HAD TO COMPLETE. SINCE YOU DID PAY $700 TO THE FIRST GUY AND HE DIDN'T FINISH IT, YOU ARE OWED A REFUND.
IF HE FAILS TO REFUND TAKE HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS.AND DON'T FORGET ALL THE DOCUMENTS. REMEMBER TO INCLUDE PAIN AND SUFFERING IN THE SUIT.

You can certainly try. My impression of this whole incident is that you should seriously consider getting rid of this dentist
