In that case the answer would be;
The coin that is not a nickel is a quarter. The other coin is a nickel.

one dollar, 50 cents & 25 cents in the ration 1:2:4 means 1 x one dollar + 2 x 50 cents + 4 x 25 cents = 3 dollars If the total amount is 75 dollars, 75/3 = 25. Multiply with 25 to all quantities. 25 x one dollar + 50 x 50 cents + 100 x 25 cents = 75 dollars So your answer will be (b) 50

shouldnt the question be a have two coins that equal 30 cents and one is not a nickel. How is this possible. The answer would be 1 quarter and one nickel. The quarter is not a nickel.
