He can go about two hours during the day, if crated. He is only needing one walk during the night. We have had him about eight days. Are we making progress? Any hints on when he will get on more of a normal schedule?

like others have asked is he really needing to go to the bathroom or is he just whining to get out. On average puppys can hold their urine for about 1 hour for every month in age they are so for your puppy he should be able to hold it at least 3 hours possibly 4 hours. I know my golden tricked us when we first got her. My mom, dad, and I were up all night with her the first night, not knowing the others were up to. No one got any sleep except her. Well the next night we ignored he except for twice when she really had to go outside and she learned really quick she wasnt suppose to cry all the time. You need to take away and food and water at least 30 minutes before you want him to go to sleep. See if that helps any. If he really is needing to go out that much he needs to see a vet because he could have a urinary tract infection. Good luck

He is still very young, with a small bladder. You are doing fine....but you can regulate his schedule more so by taking him out right after eating, napping, and playing. The older he gets, the longer he will be able to go during the day without having to go for a walk.

Although, I hope you aren't keeping him crated all day and all night.

Dogs will not go normally in their crates and that is why your seeing an increase in length. However, it seems as though he is baiting you to get attention. Is actually going every 1/2 hour to 1 when you walk him or is he just wanting out. If he is going everytime you take him out talk with your vet to make sure there is nothing going on.

do you mean going to the bathroom? 15 week old puppy's bladder is not very big. Yes every hour or so is normal, with each passing month he should be able to hold it another hour or so. Mine puppy was about 6-7 months before he could hold it all night.
