This will sound gross but it really works. Put your finger in your ear and rub some ear wax over the scratches. Then wipe it off with a soft cloth. Don't use polishes or car wax as they are to abrasive.

I have used dishwater and then just buff dry with a clean towel. The trick is to lighten the scratches so that the laser eye doesn't skip over that part.
