since there isnt msconfig in windows 2000. is there another program even a 3rd party program that will allow me to view all the appliacations that are starting up in my PC and allowing me to check and uncheck what i want started.

msconfig from XP works, but wasn't included.
You can download it, and it WILL work.

I use the program "Chameleon Startup Manager" for it.

It disables any startup programs and fully controls startup by selecting the programs to be launched, while customizing the startup settings (ie how often and when programs should be launched, etc).
