i think they called it something like shrapnel or the like. i got a terrible memory. actually when at school i think there was a mystery surrounding the name. it was made in a big flat tin and then chopped up to segments. man it was good.

Cornflake tart,with hot custard,it's just jam tart,with a mix of syrup warmed with sugar and butter,heated till the sugar melts and mixed with cornflakes,put on the top and bake till pastry cooks.

Hi, the only thing i can think of is Treacle Tart, with plenty of Custard on it, which was scumptious, mind it's been a long time since i left school lol, so things probably changed depending on when you were at school

at our school we had a kind of jam tart that had cornflakes on top - usually served with custard, but we also had chocolate concrete. it was like a very hard chocolate flapjack usually served with pink custard for some reasion.

puddings were always the best bit of school dinners.

All I remember that had cornflakes in our school was like cornflakes with pineapple...they were so sweet and tasty...dont know if thats what you are talking about.

Yes, it was cornflake tart usually severd with custard and very good it was to, may do one at weekend, thanks for the memory jogger.
