Regarding some of the other responses:
Instructions in the Bible sometimes were meant for the people at that time, especially in Paul's letters to the various churches.
For Example:
Paul instructed the Corinthian women not to cut their hair. Does that mean women can't cut their hair? Hardly. Back in the city of Corinth, the Greek Temple Prostitutes had short hair. Paul instructed the women to let their hair grow long so they wouldn't be mistaken for a prostitute.
I mean, there is even instructions telling men not to let their hair grow long. In the city of Ephesus, men with long hair were male prostitutes. The men were instructed to cut their hair, as not to be mistaken for a male prostitute.
There's many more. You have to dig deep, understand the people written to, understand their culture and their circumstances.
As far as tatoos go. That's another instruction so that the person wouldn't be mistaken for a pagan and idol worshipper.
I am a Christian. I see nothing wrong with your getting a tatoo, especially one that makes you remember your little girl.
I think it is a wonderful momentum of your daughter.
God bless you. You will see her again.

I think you are safe, friend. There may come a time when you regret having gotten a tat., but then again maybe you will not. The posture of your heart is of much more importance.. Let me ask you this, when you were baptized, did the Spirit witness within your Spirit your relationship with Him? Likewise, did the Spirit witness against what you were doing when you got the tat.? If you feel that you sinned, you repent and go on. If not, you just go on. I am sorry for the loss of your daughter, I cannot imagine losing one of my boys. May He comfort and establish your heart in Him.

The Christian bible says that your body belongs to god. You should return it to him in as good a condition as you can. It also says that the body is a temple. It is strictly against tattoos and I believe piercings as well, but this is only if you choose to take a literal view of the bible. If you do this in some parts, I feel you should do it for the whole bible.
Hope this helps :)

You know, I don't think God is that concerned with whether or not you get a tattoo. I have my ears pierced...I wear makeup and I paint my toenails...I think it's probably technically "wrong" to make your body more "beautiful" in any way because we're supposed to live with what God gave us and LOVE it. But truly, there are much bigger things in life to concern God with. Nobody's perfect and He expects us to make mistakes. If that's the biggest one you're worried about making...well, anyway, I wouldn't worry yourself silly over it. The Bible is a basic handbook for life and we are to obey the golden rule..."love one another as we love ourselves". Everything else, in my opinion, is just "gravy" :)

I don't think its a problem.
You see a lot of people discussing Levitican law, but I'm betting the same people who say not to get a tatoo because of Levitican law don't hold the correct sabbath, eat shellfish and pork, the women don't cover their hair, etc.. It's kind of hypocritcal to tell other people to observe the parts they agree with, yet they feel they can pick and choose which ones they want to hold.
By the way, all thou most holy hypocrites, "honor the sabbath and keep it holy", does not mean, "its okay to change it to Sunday if Constantine decides to change it". They're commandments, not suggestions.

I don't think he likes it but I have 2 tattoos. One of scooby doo and one of a fox. Everyone thinks it is a cat though. I think God cares more about your heart and soul. I wanted to get one of Jesus but all the ones they had were two big. Mine are on my ankles so I can cover them up if need be. Hope this helps. God bless

Actually, according to the Bible, God disapproves of everybody. Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." So in conclusion, just do whatever the hell you want, God will damn you either way.

the Mosaic Law forbade God’s people to tattoo themselves. Said Leviticus 19:28: “You must not make cuts in your flesh for a deceased soul, and you must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves. I am Jehovah.” (NWT) Pagan worshipers, such as the Egyptians, tattooed the names or symbols of their deities on their breast or arms. By complying with God’s ban on tattoo markings, the Israelites would stand out as different from other nations.—Deuteronomy 14:1, 2.
While Christians today are not under the Law of Moses, the prohibition it laid on tattooing is sobering. (Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 2:14, 15) If you are a Christian, you would certainly not want to make markings on your body—even temporarily—that smack of paganism or false worship.—2 Corinthians 6:15-18.

That's called being too legalistic. Worshipping Jesus is done in our spirit. It doesn't matter what our bodies look like so long as we dress decently. Get a Christian tatoo and don't get hung up on the law.
