It really depends on the parties involved and on many factors. If anyone of you is really social than it will be really hard. If both of you want to settle down and have lots of things in common and there is honest communication then it could work. Also, distance is important. How far do you live from each other? If it's like in another continent then 100% it won't work. Also, you have to set dates to see each other (vacations), as well as during the day (after work msn, or call by phone). In general, it is really hard but it can be done.

If you're meant for each other and have trust and communication it can. I was in one for a year and a half and it turned out we weren't meant for eachother. We had trust, but e wasn't open about telling me things (not because of the distance though). We did talk often via phone and internet. I saw him once a week. We just wanted different things. We were in different places in our lives.
I believe it can work if you work at it and if you both feel the other person is meant for you. If one doesn't, the whole thing goes capoot.
We broke up because we weren't right for eachother, not because of the distance.

Long distance relaltionships don't really work. Eventually, one of you has to move to where the other one is. In the meantime, you're spending a lot of money in travel going back and forth to see each other and on long distance phone calls.

it kinda depends on how far apart you two are..if its only an hour or so i would say it def. could! you could always drive to see one another..a few hours could be a little difficult but you could always work on it...i think it always ends up that one of the two has to move where the other is! or just meet in the middle!

in my case yes...
me and my bf have been together for almost 7yrs... straight... no break ups... annd now i've moved halfway around the world to finish my education (i will be here for another 2 years)... but i go back home like 2-3 times a year for 2-4 weeks... annnd we find our ways to make it work...
but you really have to want it to work out to make it work out... both of you have to want it so bad.. not just one... coz in that case it wont work...
you have to double up the trust, loyalty and patience...
... having something to look forward to helps... in my case its becoming that sexy nurse... hehe...
soo YEAH

they can if both people are committed and truly in love....if the love is real, no amount of distance betwen the two can stifle their feelings for each other...
