I heard it deterioriates your body and NOTHING kills it..any information or links to websites would be helpful..thx

I work in pathology. The disease is caused by a pryon which is a mutated protein similar to mad cow disease or chronic wasting disease. You get it by ingesting brain or spinal tissue from an infected animal. We do have a few cases every few years where I work. You cannot kill it or treat it. It causes rapid dimenia and memory loss. I heard about a pastor who had taken care or some very sick sheep and about 35 years later he started losing his memory and then died. I do not believe he contracted this in America......but we do have CWD. Hope this helps................

You'd have better results finding it by spelling it correctly. It's Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease and it's not new in the least. It the human form of mad cow disease, and although it can occur on it's own, it's more prevalent now because the meat from downer cows has and at times still is included in the general supply.

It's difficult to spell correctly, so don't sweat that part of it. Here's a link:

CJD ? It's the human form of Mad Cow Disease. Been around years but has been in the spotlight since the mid 90's.

The correct spelling is:Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, and it is a rare, fatal abnornality of the brain, caused by a slow unidentified virus. It causes dementia, muscle wasting, and ultimately death.
