Why the racism and violence from Mexicans?

The racist extremists delusionally believe that they own the entire continent and have the right to "take back" LA and the rest of the territories that used to be part of Mexico. They forget that the only reason those territories were part of Mexico in the first place was because Spain conquered them, and they became Mexican property by default after Spain was kicked out. The American southwest, was never originally part of Mexico, it was populated by various Native American tribes before the Spaniards came. This land was subsequently won in the Mexican War and even paid for by the US.

*I agree with Sean Penn. I live in Mexico and I am constantly hearing disparaging remarks against blacks by Mexicans.

You think there aren't racists in every single "race" in the world? This is simply prison spillout, like DickBallstein said, and gangs have been around forever. Nothing new. Ever see "West Side Story"? A lovely musical about gang violence, however that became possible.

Expat, I must say - you say your truth as if Americans didn't ILLEGALLY take Native Indian land by nearly exterminating the people. This didn't begin with the Spanish. Chris Columbus, that man celebrated for "discovering" America? Hell, he thought he was in Asia, that's why he called the natives Indians. Brainy guy. Remember Andrew Jackson's Indian Removal Act? You must have taken a history course. The Trail of Tears? One Virginian (a general) from the nineteenth century remembers a military serviceman telling him what was happening at Wounded in 1890:

"He told me he hanged all of his prisoners, because the Indians had a great and superstitious horror of hanging; for they believe that no man's soul will be received into the happy hunting grounds that does not pass through the throat, which is impossible when that route is closed by a rope; it must seek another road of exit, and all such souls are rejected at the gates of Paradise. He said a fine moral effect was produced upon the Indians by this method of execution."

My point is, to both expat and CJ, violence is NOT applicable to just one race, generation, or creed. That's a pretty black & white view. We are all guilty of it.

Wow, this ought to be the stupidest element i have examine. How do you even get your "information" from those bullsh*t internet sites which have actually no credibility. the purely credible resources that article cites(the NCTimes and Washinton cases) has no longer something to do with the problem of the object, yet truly talks about american's thoughts on unlawful immigrants. examine some real information truly than that bullsh*t propaganda. i am going to aks you a question: Why do Mexican's do jobs that blacks are more suitable than waiting to do yet are unwilling to do them and prefer authorities thoughts to truly artwork??

Why are gangs fighting over a blocks of pavement? Sometimes I just don't get all these gangs and their hate towards other people for wearing color, being a different race or owning territory. We are all people and these people they say they want blacks out of LA have to wake up. This isn't the time for this kind of BS when their is a war and people up their in politics are just using you to get a vote. Sometimes I don't know what to think about people who throw a hand in the wind and think it's okay to do this. As adults we should be educating our children and ourselves not to be hateful people.

i dont know about this but I disagree with Sean Penn... we are not racists, how can we be racists if we have black people in states such Veracruz and Chiapas? just because we have a few doesnt make us racist.

for sir shaggy: there are LOTS of mexican racists where I live, they seem to forget their families came from mexico and they refuse to admit it, they dont want to talk in spanish in public (even if they have to speak it at home because grandma doesnt undestand english at all), they refuse to talk to mexicans or latins because people might think they are "illegal" aliens... whenever I cross the border to visit, to stay for a few days, do some shopping and stuff i have to deal with mexican nopaleros (because they have the nopal right in their foreheads!!!) that think they are superior than us just because they are living the american dream.... they look like indios (like those who lived hundreds of years ago) and still demand to be called "americans" sure, if youwere born in the states, you have that right but COME ON! don't deny your race! so, there, I'm admiting that mexicans are racists too

well the stuff that is going down in L.A. basically got started in the prison system where everyone sticks with their own kind. Now unfortunately it has spilled over to the street gangs black and hispanic fighting and now innocent people have been tagerted.
