overactive (hyperthyroid) symptoms include, increased sweating, feeling hot, rapid heart beat, nervousness, anxiety, weight loss, and diarrhea.

Underactive (hypothyroid) symptoms include, slow heart rate, constipation, fatigue, weight gain, depression, sensitivity to cold, sensitivity to light, dry skin, dry thinning hair, low bp, thinning eyebrows, ridged fingernails with no moons on fingers (only thumbs)

Below are a couple of thyroid links.

You may take a look at the reference URL below. Group 1 is general symptoms or hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) e.g. depressed, constipation etc. Group 2 is for hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) e.g. skin dryness, eye irritation etc.

And, you can see that from the same page of the website provides a progress spreadsheet where you also can find the symptoms of thyroid problem quite in details.

From here: http://www.health-guard.net/eng/thyroid_symptoms.php it has a table in summary of cases. Take a look!

Yea~ doctors not explain much in details...I experienced that too. Well, I found that the healthguard T18 URL got an email or MSN doc or Thyroid Forum perhaps you can leave your message for support :)
Hope that helps!

Nervousness, severe weight loss or gain.

The medications for the thyroid are very cheap--compared to meds for almost anything else. Taking the med is very important--the thyroid is an important part of life.
