i have an advent laptop and it does not hvae micsosoft word an excel. up until now this hasn't been a major problem. However i have just gone to upload a cv onto a recruitment website and it is not accepting it, stating it must be .doc, .rtf or .txt. I've tried resaving the cv as all of these formats but no luck, it stil comes up with that statement. (i've previously uploaded a different cv as RTF and its fine? anyone got anysuggestions? im downloading open office but it is taking forever! I'd appreciate your suggestions loads! thanks!!!

yeh txt worked but it looks rubbish, would it come out like that there end tho?

Open Office is the way to go, though most operating system come with built-in application that can save in .txt format. You won't have any formatting though.

Internet Explorer has the capability to open Word and Excel files. On your browser, click File>>Open>> and browse to the document. Then save it as .txt or whatever the website will accept

Hi you could trying use word in windows which is shipped with windows, you can save this as .doc then upload it.
