Does anyone have anything bad to say about dachunds behavior and training?

Are they good cuddlers or more independant when it comes to bed time?

Our daschuand sleeps in my little brothers bed just fine. She cuddles up in a little ball under the covers and sleeps so weel, my brother has to wake ehr up in the morning. She is six months old and female. I am not sure if this is entirely breed-related, though she loves sleeping in the bed. Try it and see. As for training, they can be more stubborn and you might never get them to lie down, but, with a little patience, they are just as good as any other dog.

Dachunds(sp?) are good cuddlers unless their sleep is being interrupted.

They can be tough to potty train and they can be pretty independant thinkers, choosing their way over yours.

I've known dachaunds that were excessive yappers.

They can be really proud of their homes and it's cute to watch them parade around and give visitors the grand tour.

Dachshunds were originally bred to hunt badgers, so most of them tend to have independent personalities and can be challenging to train - positive methods will get you the best results.

I've never owned one myself, but saw a bunch when I worked in a vet clinic. Some were very cuddly with their owners, some weren't - it seemed to be more of an individual thing than a consistent breed trait. They were all strong-willed, though.

I wouldn't recommend getting one if you have cats - they are a high prey-drive dog.

i own abunch of them (7) at night they are real cuddlers, and most of mine have not been hard to potty train.

They can be hard to potty train and can sometimes be a little unpredictable. Otherwise they are great dogs.

My dachshunds are love bugs. One sleeps under the covers with me and would not have it any other way. However, they are hard to housebreak.
