a psychopath is someone who doesn't care how their actions affect others. Since judges hold themselves to be above the law and don't give a damn about what they do to others as long as they (supposedly) follow the letter of the law which is designed by criminals to protect criminals, then judges must be psychopaths!

I think you meant sociopath not psychopath but regardless this question was just a bit loopy.

Judges aren't psychopaths. They are very well educated humans. Sure, there are some jerks in the group, like with any group of people.
Judges don't hold themselves above the law. They follow it in making their decisions.
The letter of the law is written by attorneys, not criminals. It is written based on present day morals and actions.
I think you need to look up the definition of a psychopath too. You've got that mixed up a bit.

Your observations are correct!

Only the proverbial "tip of an iceberg" is what one can see
with the naked eye.
Even worse than what you describe is crawling under the surface. The criminals don't advertise their deeds. The insane,
by definition, believes he is normal.

As to other comments: have You set out to die believing in
what you read and keep on ignoring the visible facts?
Is it fanaticism, self interest or lack of experience on the subject
that makes You write Your fairy tailes?
The society can err, it happens constantly and there is ample
evidence to back this up.
Usually, if the majority is insane then the sane minority is being
locked up in mental institutions.

The acurate knowledge of history, unbiased observations and
reasoning based on tangible facts cannot be done away with
faith of any kind or wishful thinking and looking the other way.

Do You like to live in lies? Do You want others to share the same
lie-ridden lives with You?
Some make the mistake thinking that imposing opinions based
on lies onto others has to do with freedom of some kind,
guaranteed in the Constitution.

The Earth is round and revolves around the Sun despite opinions
to the contrary being proclaimed by those who claimed to be the
highest authority in the whole world, supported by practically
the whole society.

Ever heard that 99% of the judges/lawyers/doctors/other
scumbags give the rest a bad name?

Sure, there must be (by mathematical chance) a few exceptions
pertaining to persons or just sentences (mostly because there
was no good chance to act otherwise) but let us not reverse
the proportions by suggesting that 1% is more than 99%.

There are simple explanations why, what we see, is the way it is.
People with bad characters look for places where they can live
their deviations out. They find them or convert other places to
their needs. Apart from that, certain jobs are perfectly tailored
for certain type of sick minds. No sane, goodhearted human
being would ever consider working there.
And those places contribute to further corruption of individuals
dwelling in them.

About morality said Mahatma Gandhi: Cowards cannot be moral.

Great many cowards go hand in hand with few criminals out of
fear, thinning the remaining 1% even further.

How powerful must the truth be when a small fraction of all
nations who discovered it exerts such influence on their inactive
part that reflects at least in their imagination.

Yes, it is this noble truth that fuels Your imagination, dear commentators.
It SHOULD be like You write it but, in reality, it is NOT so.
Understanding this difference enables You to do something to
restore the truth, whereas believing that everything is just fine
only rocks us to a deeper sleep.

You will wake up when You start starving while repaying the
national debt spent on recent wars by the US government.
Wars, most of our society doesn't want.

Try to get a cent for something constructive, like shelters for
homeless! Billions for destruction are readied amazingly quick.

Is it a sane man who seeks destruction over construction, just
to profit from it easily?
Don't get fooled by tricky justifications. Recall that each insanity
is based on some method.

Slavery was once perfectly legal, from government's and
religion's "point of view", Nazism was once legal, supported
by other nations and the Pope who arranged for the worst
Nazis a safe passage to escape due justice.
History repeats itself today...

The best judges are thoughtful, strongly aware of right and wrong, fair and impartial, deliberative, and incorruptible. None of these characteristics describes psychopaths very well. Although it's altogether possible some judges are psychopaths, people who show many psychopathic personality traits I would think/hope are unlikely to be appointed judges, and if they are, they are even more unlikely to be promoted to a higher court.

Generally a person who cannot control their temper and self-gratifying impulses, puts little forethought into their actions, and has an arrogant sense of entitlement doesn't make for a good judicial candidate.

A psychopath is more than just someone who doesn't care, a psychopath has to have made a true break with reality. Furthermore; society is still the determinant of what is acceptable and what is abnormal. Society as a whole has not made the call that all judges are psychotic, therefore; they aren't. Kind of funny though, if society did start believing you, then the judges would have to order themselves held for psychiatric evaluation.

Anyone can be a psycopath but I don't think that judges are in general. They don't always hold themselves above the law, they've just taken oaths to uphold the law. Don't be quick to stereotype them. There are good and bad eggs of every race, gender, profession, etc. Don't judge them all the same.

Judges are not above the law and have seen a few good Judge's. They are ordained by God.
