The most important thing is to cut back on junk food, you don't need sweets and chips because you don't even realize how much you eat any of those things. And you need to exercise every day. People tend to say that they don't have time for that. When I work too much I try to walk as much as I can at work, I don't use elevator, and that's the best workout :)
And you will definitely lose those 10 pounds in about two months and it won't come back (like with these starvation diets). It's healthy and long lasting, more importantly you make certain habits and keep your body firm.

At 120 pounds I seriously doubt that you have a weight problem (unless you are under 5 ft tall). If you lose weight doing a healthy excercise and eating regimen you can lose about a pound a week, up to 2 pounds at most. So, it should take you 5 to 10 weeks to lose 10 pounds. Could take longer depending on how you do it.

1st you need to figure out how many calories you eat in a typical day. Try writing down everything you eat for a couple of days and figure out your average. Once you know how much you usually eat, subtract 500 from the total and eat that many for the next couple of weeks, while doing 1 hr of excercise everyday. It will take you about 1 month to get down to 110. Remember losing weight is never as fast as ads and tv say it will be!

PS: Stop drinking soda and eating sugar immediatly! Only drink water from now on.

What you really need is not a diet to lose 10 lbs., you need a diet for the rest of your life. Forget it those 10 lbs. Look for a diet and way of life that keep you healthy and lean. Or, do you want to yo-yo diet for the rest of your life?.

First, adopt exercise every day for the rest of your life. It is not for losing weight, it is to stay healthy and sound body and mind. It is in our genes. 30-60 min/day.

Second. Forget those sodas, sugary foods, crackers, vegetable oils, etc. They are poison to the body.

Eat a high protein, some fruits and raw vegetable as your main food. Drink only water.

At most, 2 months. Don't lose more than 1-2lbs a week. Eat healthy and exercise. Good luck.
