Go to the death index database on this site.

Hope that helps and I hope you find who you are looking for.

Contact the local council cemetaries office. They will have all burial records. Also, the local records office should let you search the archives for details.

If the area has only a few graveyards and cemetaries you could take a walk and browse through the graves which are of a similar age and try your luck.

This is a general hint. Even though you go in through YA Canada, YA Australia, YA UK or YA USA, all of the questions go into one big "pot" and get read by everyone in the world who speaks English. Most of the people here are in the UK and USA, but you sometimes get questions and answers from people who worry about kangaroos eating their roses.

So - put a nation, or, better yet, a nation and a state / province in all of your questions. It will help people help you.

Hello Alexdonna,
If you would like me to find your grandads grave for you just email me mamsgel1956@yahoo.co.uk I will email you straight back with his details if I find them. I will need his name, area he died in and a rough idea of the year he died, then you can find out where he is buried. Good luck Diane

For USA, check the free Social Security Death Index at http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/

Your local library may offer online access to indexed newspaper archives; there may be an obituary.

you can see if someone has entered it at Rootsweb.com
there's alot of counties that have entered cemetery info.
find the state, then the county. then do a search on your surname. hopefully it will pop up with some hits. good luck.
