You need to get an idea of something that when you see it, you think of your father. Like for instance, my father is a mechanic, and he alsways has been since he was 16. His passion, is automoibiles. What I would do in that since, is maybe a wrench with "Daddy" etched on it or something. Maybe have a smal hand, in a bigger hand, etc. Something like that. You are the one that knows what gets you to think about him. And as to where to get it, maybe on the underside of your wrist, or on your arm, something like that, maybe ankle, that way you can always look at it down the road, and remember the good times.

Have you considered getting his portrait? There are several wonderful artists that specialize in portrait tats. You could both pick out a pic of him that you both love and get that done. You could also think of something that reminds you of him. I think of my dad and I think of a pillar or bear because he was strong. In the end I am sure that you will have a wonderful tattoo and it will be great. Just be sure to check out the shop BEFORE you get tattooed!

That is something only you have to decide because we do not know the kind of relationship you and your dad have and what you both like. You will have to go into a tattoo parlor and look through everything they have and choose from there, if not and if you are creative, then draw something that matches what you are looking. And remember, it will be permanent.

I've seen some pictures of a little girl being held by her father in an embrace that have brought tears to my eyes... when my father himself sees these types of pictures it moves him as well... maybe something of that sort? Do you have any old photos of him holding you as a little girl that could be used as a model for a true artist to draw something up?

What if you got a tattoo of something he likes or has a passion for? It'd be discrete, yet a good proof of love.

Why do you need to stick ink-filled needles into your body to honor your father? Wouldn't doing something more positive with your live be more of an honor? I mean, anyone can buy a tattoo. Do something special.

I don't understand the whole tatto thing. If you get one at least
get it somewhere that you can cover it up. Don't get it above your *** crack. One day your hips will be bigger and it will look bad.
Actually Ms adventure is correct. If my daughter came to me and said I want to get a tatto to symbolize my love for you. I would say if you love don't get one.
