Those lumps could be tumors which also explains the excessive drinking. Has his appetite decreased? Has he become lethargic? Take him in to see your vet so they can do the appropriate tests to find out exactly what's causing this. The vet will test the lumps and take blood samples for testing as well. Boxers are known for developing tumors and other lumps and bumps. Hope this helps.

It sounds like Cushings Disease. We had a german shep/husky mix that started drinking tons of water when she was about 10. She also developed several little growths. The vet diagnosed Cushings. The cause is usually a growth on the pituitary or the adrenal glands. There are some treatments for it, but, given our little dog's age at the time and the possible side effects, we opted out of treatment. Don't freak out, though. Our dog lasted another 5 years and was very happy. She was a month away from her 15th birthday when she had a stroke. We put her to sleep after that.
Talk to your vet. Some of the bumps might need to be removed if they get scabby or oozy. Your buddy will probably need to go out more frequently, too, with all the water he's drinking

It's time to take your dog in to the vet for a checkup. Sudden increases in drinking often signify diabetes, but can be several other things too. The bumps could be related or unrelated. Nobody can diagnose your dog over the internet.

Have you changed foods recently? Some kibble is so dry that many dogs have the need for more water to aid in digestion. If you have changed foods the bumps may be an indication your dog is allergic also. Please the a vet have a look at your dog to give you a proper diagnosis. Any drastic change in your dogs behavior needs to be evaluated by a professional.

I would take the dog to the vet and have him/her checked for diabetes. While you are there have him check out the bumps. They very well could be fatty tumors, benign or malignant. I wish only the best for your dog. Good luck.
