How can we have an army and bombs and kill people with them? Would we ever have gone to war if Jesus was president?

Oh heck, they don't care. Religious freedom means very little to them so why should they give a crap about homeland security?

First, let me say I believe that you're asking a "loaded" question because you don't believe in Christianity, however, I'm going to answer your question.

I believe, as did our forefathers in the separation of Church and State. That does not mean that our leaders cannot be Christians. They can.

If our enemies attack the United States or any of our forces anywhere in the world or our citizens are placed in jeopardy, the President of this country is required to act. Sometimes that means we must go to war. That must happen whether or not our President is a Christian, of some other religious belief, or an atheist.

Don't ask would we have gone to war if Jesus was President.
Read Revelation.
It says that He WILL GO TO WAR WITH THE ANTICHRIST. Sorry, but that's the only war he's fighting here on Earth.

Read Ecclisiastes there is a time for everything. Jesus also told the apostles to take a sword with them in their travels Luke 22:36 and Romans 13 does not sound like a peace at any price philosophy to me! Christians can and will defend and protect themselves if the need occurs! Believe that!

I actually dont think that Jesus would have ever had a Christian in an authority position. We are called to be in the world, but not of the world. Meaning, we are to live our lives like everyone else, but not get caught up in the day to day, because our ultimate goal is not even about this life.

I think Christians should stay away from politics all together. Although, there are some issues that I dont agree with that would end up happening, it is something I think the bible already warned us about.

Well, there were lots of wars in the bible when jesus was present and had all of his followers...so maybe there would be war if he was president. As far as religion goes, I think the bible is a fictional book and I'm wiccan and just like being left alone and not constantly hounded by other faiths.

No argument here.

Thomas Jefferson made use of the Quran among other books to read up on natural law. And when he was doing it, he added that religion isnt apart of the state, and wasnt a test for any persons apart of the state.

If it was, the US wouldnt be different than the 18th century europe that people ran away from.

and Saint Rumsfeld opened the Ark of the Covenant and a clay tablet was there, upon it was writ in blood: This is the the 11th Commandment from thy most Holy God: Thou shalt Bomb thy enemies with Cluster Bombs and Bunker Busters and Holy Hand Grenades and Big Nasty Tanks and Machine Guns and Napalm and Thou Shalt inherit all I have Given and I shall be with thee always to the end of the age, Amen

I think the governments should stay out of religion.
Otherwise, they have justification for all there bad acts. God is with us syndrone. Like the Islamic terriorists.
We have a right to blow people up because God likes us.
Jesus said those who live by the sword dies by the sword and love thine enemies. So no he would not go to war or fight anyone.

No one of The True Christian Faith wants a theocracy led by men in the US.... that would be against God's Word and Will... The US was founded on Judaeo Christian ethics... that did not make it a "Christian" Country.... and it is not a "Christian" country.....but those who live here and those who come here should expect that the law of the land is based on the ethics of God's Word.... and if they do not like it they can get the hell out...

The True Christian Faith can not be forced upon any one... The Faith is a one-on-one relationship with God... not a political system... it is compleatly against God's Word and Will to impose it upon anyone...

Baseing the Law on the etics of god's Word dose not impose The Faith on any one... those who are now trying to compleatly change the ethics of this country are the enemies of freedom who do intend to impose their " religion" upon every one... and to enslave the world if they can.... those are the ones who should be feared and fought against by all freedom loving people every where... no one has any thing to fear from any one of The True Christian Faith... and the founding fathers knew this...most of them were not Christians... but they saw the value of the ethics of God... that is why they were incorporated into our law.... not to enslave but to free... Keep this country free of the threat of a theocracy. whether it be from Humanisim or islam... True Christians will fight beside honest atheists... to the death... to defend this Nation against those who would enslave us...

Christians will use their religion to justify violence just as Muslims now do. But there are many other things not as blatant as violence and war that they justify as well, or turn a blind eye to. Jesus would be the first to cast a stone on today's Christian, probably have them all crucified. But seriously, he wouldn't, although he might think about it at first.
