Yes, growing up is very scary and it's a part of the process to be worried and caught up in the "what's ahead of me." But take a deep breath. Remember, you are about to embark on a wonderful and unknown journey. The best part is that you can make it as amazing as you want - it's all up to you. No-one else can decide your path. So, stop and think. What can you do to make yourself a better person now? Are you volunteering somewhere to see how people "without" live? Do you count your blessings and feel empowered because of the family and friends you have around to support you? Do you have a brain that only needs to be nourished with facts and experiences? Instead of looking so far out in the future, look instead to your today. Make each day a day where you learn something new (for your brain) and do someone a good turn (for your spirit) and you will be fine.

Enjoy your journeys!

What a switch - most kids can't wait to get out of school! Plan on going to college - that will delay the growing up phase you are so afraid of. If that is not in the cards get an after school job now. Once you graduate high school you will already have some job experience and be able to get a better job.

Most adults will tell you the high school was one of the most stress full periods of their lives and wouldn't repeat it for anything. Keeping that in mind you are about to enter one of the most exciting parts of growing up. You have to potential to do anything and BE anything! How exciting is that! Earning enough money to live on is not that hard for someone with half a brain. Just don't get hooked up losers that can drag you down. Try to make intelligent, informed choices and don't just jump into situations that you might not be able to get out of easily. Your parents should be there to help you when you need it.

Focus on your senior year and how much fun that will be. To be honest there is not that much difference between a high school senior and a college freshman, just a new school and a little more freedom.

Go to college. If there is anything farther from growing up it is college.
