Can I perm my hair over henna that has been in my hair for over four months and colored on top of?

I dyed over the henna with a permenant hair dye. Will I still be able to get a perm? Thanks!

I wouldnt recommend it. Henna is a metallic compound and reacts with alkaline compunds! Most perms are alkaline... There are perms that are an acid wave (lighter perm aka body wave)! I as a licensed stylist definatley would not perm your hair!!!! For future reference do not use henna! Henna also reacts with alkaline haircolor especially if you use one that is a highlift color!

What kind of henna did you use? If you used henna off the shelf and not pure body art quality henna then no you shouldn't perm your hair. Try to let the henna grow out first. If you had used pure body art quality then fine you can perm over your hair as pure henna does not contain metalic salts or additives.

I have been doing henna on my hair for 8 yrs and professionals are not trained in the field of pure organic henna products, they only know chemicals.

If you dyed over the henna and it came out ok then you're probably fine, but i really wouldn't suggest it. Your hair where the henna was will probably become kind of brassy, and if you dye and perm your hair, you're really overworking it, anyway.

Just do it. Don't think about it and it will be ok.
I dyed my hair with henna two months ago and now I'm going to dye it, this week.

It is not recommended and could cause a chemical reaction resulting in hair loss. You shouldnt color again either until it is all cut out.

it wouldnt be a good idea...i wouldnt
