You'll dehydrate and cramp, your body will get used to them and won't be able to regulate itself. In other words, after a while, you won't be able to *po op* on your own.

And you could die.

Part quoted below:

What should I watch out for when taking laxatives?
Laxatives are usually for short-term use, meaning less than 1 week. Bulk-forming products can be used long-term and may be needed by many older adults. If constipation continues for 2 weeks, call your health care provider. Some diseases can cause a change in bowel habits.

Do not use laxatives too much. Laxative abuse occurs when you use too many laxatives or use them too much to try to have normal bowel movements. Laxative abuse can have serious effects:

It can damage the muscular function of the bowel.
You may need more and more of the laxative to get results, until eventually the laxatives do not work.
Excessive laxative use can drain the body of water, vitamins, and minerals.
It can cause kidney stones or kidney failure.
The effects of other medicines can be changed.

No no no and no!! It can lead to addiction since once you come off you will start to feel too full and uncomfy and then you'll want to take more laxatives to relieve the feeling since you're body will be so out the way of performing naturally. Also, you'll lose out on masses of all the goodness of the food since your body will not have enough time to process the food before it gets rejected unnaturally from your body so this can lead to other problems of under nourishment etc which could have long term effects for you. If you are trying to lose the baby weight (aren't we all and I'm 2 years down the line!) then healthy eating and exercise is your only option. Slowly but surely wins the day - if the weight comes off sensibly then it will stay off. Fast fixes will only mean the weight quickly going back on once you stop and are still eating the same amounts as you were with the laxatives, which is where a lot of addictions come in - so please get yourself a healthy eating plan. Why not persuade your friend to join with you then the sensible way will be easier with a friend along side. I have just started a GI diet and lost 4 pound in a fortnight (2lb a week is the recommended loss) and it's filling and healthy and has loads of variety. Please follow a structured, calculated diet.

no b/c you aren't allowing your body to absorb any nutrients and anything that you lose by this method will just come back once you stop taking the laxatives.

if you feel constipated at times and that makes you feel bloated and uncomfortable, then simply take a laxative free stool softener every day. i just use the wal-mart brand found in teh pharmacy department. it's a lot cheaper than colace and does the same thing.

take care.

Well, I guess you could lose a shitload of weight. But NO! it is not a good way to lose weight. Overuse of laxitives can be very dangerous.

no not really, unless you just need to look skinny for one day, like your wedding, or prom or something. Long term, all laxatives will do is mess up your digestive system untill you find you can't take a sh*t without using them.
