Had some ice cream yesterday that had 4 total grams of Trans fat (based on the servings I ate).

I had no idea the ice cream had trans fat until after the fact. So just wondering how long do I have to live? j/k.

Any amount of transfat is bad for you, but it's not the end of the world. It does occur in nature, but in tiny amounts (such as in ice cream), so the human body isn't especially good at processing it. So it's more likely to cause obesity and it disrupts some digestive functions such as liver enzymes. Also, it increases the risk for heart disease.

So yes, it is bad, but you won't die, and if you're otherwise healthy, you can take some good ol' transfat now and then.

Trans fat is the worse kind of fat. It is worse than saturated fat. I try not to eat any foods with trans fat but most animal products do have trans fat naturally. I am a sugar addict (that is why my name is Sugar Mama) but instead of ice cream try fat free or low fat frozen yogurt and even then in moderation. If you eat whole grains and natural foods you will not have to worry so much about trans fat. Try not to eat anything that is not in its natural state i.e anything with enriched anywhere on the ingredient list, don't eat anything white (except for meat and veggies) i.e bread, rice, pasta, potatoes. If you stay away from processed foods, high fat meats, and unnatural foods you won't be eating too many trans fats.
