My boyfriend is a Technologist and I asked him this questions yesturday why do they call it a Breadboard? and he didn't know I'm just wondering if there is any history behind it or anything. thanks in Advance.

The breadboard derives its name from the early days of radio when amateurs would nail copper wire and terminal strips to a wooden board (often literally a board for cutting bread), and solder electronic components to them.
