Recently, our local hospital has implemented a Dunkin Donuts within its main lobby... I have found that there is NO LINE there in the morning and have been going there to get my morning coffee (since the other Dunkin Donuts in town have a wait upwards of 20 minutes).

I normally park in the emergency parking area so I can run in and get my coffee, and up till this morning I have not had an issue. Today, my car was on the 'hooks' of a flat bed and they were moving it on when I came out. I tried to discuss this with the tow truck guy, even offering him a bribe but he REFUSED to take my car off the hooks.
I felt this guy was VERY rude to me and I'm thinking of pressing charges against the tow truck company...I was in that parking spot for less than 2 minutes and he had my car...it was almost like he was waiting for me...

do I have a case against him and my 100.00 impound fee?

You have a case of being the type of person who doesn't like the rules, and breaks them.

You got what you deserved.

I don't think you have a case. You were parked in the emergency parking lot with the purpose of running into a Dunkin Donuts for a coffee. This is NOT an emergency.

The driver was "rude" to you because you were in violation of the parking lot "rules." And, you tried to bribe the guy. I would be insulted, too. He's doing his job.

He may have been waiting for you. You have been violating the rules for a while.

I guess your cup of coffee cost over $100 that day.

BTW- what charges would you press? You were the one in the wrong.

I agree with the first answer. You were caught where you shouldn't have been and you had to pay for it. You are lucky that the police weren't called...what if there had been a real emergency? God forbid that the emergency parking area be kept clear for those who actually need it! Good for the tow truck being nearby to nab you.

P.S. I bet you will think twice before you park in an unauthorized zone again.

He obviously was waiting for you. Now did you learn that emergency parking is for emergencies only?

You aren't the only one. From now on, anyone who parks there will be a money-maker for the tow company!

Sounds like he was waiting on U to me as well. If the emergency
parking sign only says also tow-zone clearly desigenated, then
U are probably screwed. If there is no clearly marked tow-zone
sign U might have a case. If No tow-zone sign U should "Not"
have to pay 100.00 impound fee.

Hope some idiot park in emergency parking spot while you suffer a heart attack as someone try to rush you to the hospital.

You are just like the jerk that parks in the loading zone and prevents those that need to be there.

I hope your car falls off the truck and busts into flames.

YOU ARE A SELF CENTERED ARROGANT TWIT!

No. There is a reason for an "emergency parking area" and it is NOT for your convenience while getting coffee.

Pay up and park where you should.
