Recently, our local hospital has implemented a Dunkin Donuts within its main lobby... I have found that there is NO LINE there in the morning and have been going there to get my morning coffee (since the other Dunkin Donuts in town have a wait upwards of 20 minutes).

I normally park in the emergency parking area so I can run in and get my coffee, and up till this morning I have not had an issue. Today, my car was on the 'hooks' of a flat bed and they were moving it on when I came out. I tried to discuss this with the tow truck guy, even offering him a bribe but he REFUSED to take my car off the hooks.
I felt this guy was VERY rude to me and I'm thinking of pressing charges against the tow truck company...I was in that parking spot for less than 2 minutes and he had my car...it was almost like he was waiting for me...

do I have a case against him and my 100.00 impound fee?

You have no case...

Jeopardizing people's lives & health by using the emergency parking area at a hospital so you can save a few minutes and have a donut is a pretty lame excuse. In the real world this is called being selfish.

Pay the fine and chalk it up to an expensive lesson well learned. Just be glad you weren't parked there during a large emergency where every available parking space is needed to unload victims. In that case you could've been criminally liable for contributing to the victim's suffering, injuries or worse - death.

Go ahead and take it to court, you'll be laughed out of there. Are you kidding, this can't be a serious question, can it? By now you would think you'd have the idea of "emergency" parking pretty well understood, and a coffee doesn't fall into that category. I'd even bet that you also park in the handy cap parking space when it's convenient for"you". I don't know how old you are but what ever your age, grow up, think of some one besides yourself. As far as the $100.00 goes, I hope it was some really good coffee for that price. Have a nice day.

Before I answer this, I need to know if the signs said: "Emergency parking while getting Dunkin Donuts" I'm pretty sure it didn't, so I would think you're screwed!!! And that's putting it mildly. Here's a little food for thought, Cops have reputations for hanging around donut shops, so if you're going to do something stupid like this, you might want to find out what cops don't like. OK? You do have a case though, it's a great big case of stupidity. Maybe next time you park there at the hospital, instead of getting coffee and doughnuts, get your head removed from your a**.

Pressing charges for what????
For being rude?
Sounds like you were pro parked and got caught. It takes longer than two minutes to hook up a car and move it onto a flat bed, so you were in there longer than that.

I have had to carry a very sick (and heavy) child across a very large parking lot because the emergency parking area was full. It would cheese me off there were people there just getting coffee and not going to the emergency room.

It is the way tow business make their money. They wait for people to break parking rules and tow them (it sucks but that's the way the game is played). You don't have a case because you broke the rule of parking in an emergency lane. The tow truck was within his rights to tow your car.

Last time I checked getting coffee from Dunkin Donuts without any lines is not an emergency. Next time wait in line, it'll be a lot cheaper!

Nope, You were parked illegally and they have the right to tow it away, if they are called by the hospital, which is most likely. Now if he was just sitting there and waiting yes he had no right to hook it up. Dont mention the attempted bribe. Good luck

No. You violated the parking rules of the hospital. The lot is for people while in the emergency dept, not the coffee shop. The hospital has every right to do what they did. It's the price you have to pay for being impatient.

lmao...I cant believe you even have the guts to ask others if you were right

THATS HILARIOUS!!!

You parked in the Emergency spot and cant figure out why you are being towed? Your coffee and donuts do not have a priority over ANY medical emergency, however, while there you may want to have your BRASS ones removed.
