Water. When I first cut sodas and alcohol out and started drinking water, I lost quite a few pounds. Since then, my overall health and energy have improved. There's even visible improvement in your skin when you switch to water. Now that there are so many fruit-flavored waters to choose from, drinking water is even fun! Enjoy!

ALWAYS eat breakfast. I eat 2 to 3 egg whites each morning with some low fat cheese on it. Have a healthy snack mid morning like carrot sticks. For lunch I usually have a grilled chicken salad or just a regular ol' turkey sandwich on whole grain bread, maybe a banana, a protein bar mid afternoon and a healthy dinner. Stay away from fried foods, lots of sugar, soft drinks, etc. It's really quite easy to eat this way, once you cut out all the bad stuff, you stop craving it.
Exercise will always make you feel the best though, so make sure you get plenty of it.

Eat whole grains in the morning and make sure you eat enough food with protein, such as milk and meat. Also, make sure you stay away from the sweets, meaning little to no soda, candy, and try to stay away from the energy drinks. If you find yourself needed a sweet fixing.... try increasing your intake of carbs. Usually when your body feels like ti needs sweet it is because you body wants energy. The good thing about sweets is it will only give you energy for a little while, while whole grains will get you energized for hours. GOOD LUCK!

I keep raisins, dates and bananas in my desk drawer. They are easy to eat, keep well and are not messy. Each counts as a serving of fresh fruit. They are much healthier than chips or cookies from the vending machine down the hall. I feel full after eating them, but not bloated and stuffed, like with the other stuff.

A good rule of thumb that Americans don't do anymore is eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and supper like a pulpier.

Add 5 cups tea daily, usually green.
It helps against stress, infection, inflammation, lowers risk of cardiovascular and cancer problems, and helps with weight management.
The most powerful health habit is calorie restriction with optimal nutrition (CRON--Dr. Roy Walford). CRON completely eliminates most modern diseases and increases life span.
Tea fits in because it is 0 calories and packed with anti-oxidants and phytonutrients.

Honestly, fruits does it for me. There is a variety for any individual and they are sweet for those who have a sweet tooth. Fruits has plenty of vitamin C and antioxidants and if you eat enough you can get extremely full.
