Acts 2:38
1 Corinthians 3:17
And Paul wrote, " Whatsoever ye do in Word or Deed, do in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him"
Colossians 3:17
Water baptism is done in both word and deed.
WE CANNOT AFFORD TO OVERLOOK THIS COMMAND TO THE CHURCH.
Do you agree?

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The phrase "in the name of Christ" means by the authority of or according to the instructions of Christ.
When we look at Mark 16:16, we see the instructions of Christ about baptism. Jesus said, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved."
Many today teach that a person believes, is saved, then he shall be baptized. This is not the same thing Jesus said. It is not in the same order.
What would Jesus have said if he had meant "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved"? I believe he said what he meant and meant what he said. I believe Jesus and these are the instructions I followed when I was baptized. If you do not believe Jesus, you shall be condemned (Mark 16:16)
Since I followed what Jesus instructed, then yes, I was baptized in the name of Christ, or according to the authority of Christ. I was baptized for the remission of my sins (Acts 2:38).
Also, see what Jesus said in Luke 24:46-47 and compare this to Acts 2, especially verses 5 and 38. You will see the apostles taught exactly what Christ had instructed. (See Matthew 28:18-20)
Jesus is "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him". (Hebrews 5:9) Since Jesus commanded baptism, and this verse teaches we need to obey him to be saved, then yes baptism is necessary for salvation!

Peter, no longer Jesus, is talking in Acts 2:38. Peter reported to them, "substitute your hearts and lives and be baptized, each and every physique of you, interior the call of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. and you will acquire the present of the Holy Spirit." If God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are a similar, then every person is being baptized in His call. Romans 14:a million says "settle for into your group somebody who's susceptible in faith, and don't argue approximately comments".

Only if getting knocked into a Chinese benjo (sewage) ditch while one of your buddies screams, JESUS CHRIST!", counts. I got wet from head to toe and stunk BAD. Does it matter that were were loaded at the time, and I don't mean with money so don't try passing the collection plate this way unless you want it filled with what I had for lunch yesterday.
Paul falls off a horse, hits his head, and writes a bunch of letters and they roll it into the bible. Today he would be medicated.
No I don't agree. This ought to get a lot of thumbs down from the churchies.

Baptism is an outward sign, showing the world that you have been dead, buried and resurrected with Christ. Matthew 28:19 "Go ye and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit."

Yes I am! I got saved then chose to be baptized! In June of 1999 to be precise!
And NO, you do NOT have to be baptized to be accepted into the kingdom of heaven. Was the thief on the cross baptized? Didn't think so!

Yes when I was 15. I agree baptism is required for salvation and is symbolic of being buried with Christ and is how sins get washed away.

baptism is NOT a necessity of christianity, but rather is a symbol of starting your life anew, of being "reborn" but it is not necissary to be a believer or to be saved.
1 corinthians 3:17
17If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

Yes, I was baptized. I really didn't have a choice in the matter, since I was an infant at the time.
I agree with Robert Ingersoll....
With soap, baptism is a good idea.

No. I have not been baptized yet. But I am planning on it this summer. Good question, my friend. Oh~ and ignore all those other negative comments above. Pray for them, if anything.

Whatever ritual gives you peace in your life go ahead and do. Just quit pushing it onto those who have a different peace.
