should I claim my student loan on my taxes if my accrued interest is only 50 dollars?

You mean you've paid $50? Yes! It might drop you a tax bracket, save you a few bucks, and might even throw you into a bracket where you are eligible for more credits on other things! Absolutely!

The only tax deduction regarding Student Loans is Student Loan Intrest that you have paid in the 2006 tax year.

I've had my share of problems with my student loan. What I did was go to this site and fill out the form. They helped me lower my monthly payment, and now it's not the burden that it used to be.
