My doctot just called in a RX for me for the z-pack. I'm just wondering how effective it has been for others that have taken it. It's only a 5 day supply so I'm guessing it's pretty strong stuff? I haven't had a sinus infection for years..I'm miserable. Will this stuff make me feel better quickly?

The great thing about the Z-pack is it only needs to be taken for 5 days, but it keeps working for 10 days. It works great. I get a sinus infection every year, and my doctor always prescribes it for me. You'll feel better in a day or less.

Z-pack is only taken for 5 days, but works in the system for around 10 days. Depending on the sinus infection, you should start feeling better in a couple of days.
The patients that I've known to use a Z-pack for sinus infection have been very happy with the results.
Remember, drink plenty of fluids too. This will help the antibiotic flush the stuff from your system.

I have had a sinus infection that caused eye infections. Tried Augmentin. It didn't work. Got a Z Pack on Saturday. Took 2 of the 6 pills Saturday evening. By Sunday evening I was feeling so much better. I am blown away by this antibiotic. First time user.

What should I avoid while taking azithromycin?

Do not take antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before or after you take azithromycin. This includes Acid Gone, Aldroxicon, Alternagel, Di-Gel, Gaviscon, Gelusil, Genaton, Maalox, Maldroxal, Milk of Magnesia, Mintox, Mylagen, Mylanta, Pepcid Complete, Rolaids, Rulox, and others. These antacids can make azithromycin less effective when taken at the same time.
Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, stop taking azithromycin and call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Azithromycin can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors.

I have a sinus infection now. I went to urgent care in New Albany Ohio and the PA refused to give me a Z pak. She stated that research has shown it doesn't work for sinus infections. I have NEWS for her! It works for me lady ! She put me on Augmentin 6 days ago and I'm still blowing blood clots from my sinuses. Now I must go to another Dr., so I can insist on a Z-Pak. I could have been cured by now if the PA would just listen to the patient. I know my body and I know what works ! Amen ! Gotta Love this health care.

Excellent antibiotic!! You should be feeling much better by tomorrow! They used zithromax for my daughter's sinus infection a couple of months ago. Also, she had strep throat 4 times in 3 months last year. Zithromax is what finally got rid of it. She was strep free until her tonsilectomy 4 months later.

I've taken the Z-Pack a couple of times now. You take it for five days, but it actually works for about 10. It's been very effective for me, and it's great taking it just once a day. It took me a couple of days to start feeling better. It usually takes about 48 hours for an antibiotic to kick in. Feel better soon!
