Student loan was transferred to another creditor but both accounts are still on my credit report. The same thing happened with a credit card account, It was purchased by someone else but both of the accounts are on my credit report.

Its very common for duplicate accounts report on the credit report even after they are transferred to servicing, especially student loans. It generally doesnt have a negative affect on the credit as it is obvious that they are duplicates, if this concerns you, send a dispute letter to the three bureaus asking the duplicates to be removed. a good website to visit is www.myfico.com

Yes, the account stays on your credit report. The creditors sell your information over and over again. This is considered inaccurate information on your credit report. This can be disputed. I own a credit repair company, if I can be of any assistance to you just let me know.

Yes, I have had accounts on my credit report even though they have been transferred TWICE...so a total of 3 entries. They just stay on. I never worry about credit report entries as long as they say "transferred" or "paid off", or "closed".
