Put your hair into a braid and then with a straightener iron, press down the braid, do it a few times, when you take the braid out, your hair will be curly.

You can get loose perms which just makes your hair wavy. You can pick how tight or loose you want your curls to be however there is no way of having permanent curls without having a perm. For easy curls use straightners start at the top of your roots and bring the straightners down twisting as you go. When your near the end flick the hair out and spray each curl with hair spray. For waves plait your hair when its wet and sleep in them untill the next day or for quickness dry with a hairdryer. You can also use heated rollers and finish off with hairspray or try rag rolling --> section off wet hair about 2cm wide start at the bottom and wrap hair around a rag until you get near the root, hold by tying the rag into a knot and sleep until the next day or as i said before for a quick fix dry with a hairdryer. Finally another way of atcheiving curls is to use a hair mouse and scrunch when your hair is wet, dry with a diffuser on the end of your hairdryer. There are many ways to curl hair just try experimenting.
Hope this helps!!

your unlikely to acheive permanent curls unless you are born with them naturally, i have hair thats not straight and not curly...it goes either way pretty easiely, to get curly hair i do a variety of things depending on the style i want -
1, divide your hair into 6 equal sections, plait them then either sleep with them in or clamp your straightners over them for a few seconds, gives a tousled look, change the size of the plaits smaller if you want more intense curls (also blow dry your hair and scrunch some mouse in before hand)
2. use curling tongs, now you can buy some that come with a variety of sizes so you can get different size curls
3. Twist widths off your hair (ideally about an inch) and pin them to your head with kirby grips, spitz with hairspray and leave for about an hour, take them out, run your fingers through and ta-dah curly hair
4. twist all of your hair into a bun and repeat the above
5. get a perm done at a salon, dont worry they're not the scary poodle kind there is now a variety available for you to choose from!
6. use rollers, again they come in variety of sizes to give different effects

No curly hair is permanent unless it is natural. Get a very good perm from a professional or use hot rollers like the rest of us.
Good luck.

have a loose perm done. Relatively cheap and turns hair wavy/curly. Or buy curling tongs and some good stronghold hairspray. Hot curls (pink bottle) is good.

this is not permanent but it works very well for a few days: after a shower, make your hair semi-dry but not completely dry. (night shower) put your hair in a bun and spray lots of hairspray on it. the next day, take it out and comb it with your fingers. it will be curly.

I french plait my daughter's hair when its wet. She leaves it in overnight and in the morning it is really curly, which she loves! It stays curly for the rest of the day as well.
