im 45 yrs old, 3 grown kids. 5'4" 150 lbs. for years i was a lithe 118 lbs until about a year ago i gained 20 lbs in 2 mths! i could basically eat anything i wanted.didnt have to exercise. although i always drank skim milk, dont drink soda, and stay away from too many carbs and high fat items. im small framed so it really shows on me and now im eating alot less and really watching what i eat and the scale just wont budge! ive had my thyroid checked and its normal. even if this was hormone related that doesnt explain gaining it so fast. i feel like this body is foreign to me. geez i weigh more now than when i was 9 mths pregnant! anyone else going through this? any ideas? help!

i wish i could give you an answer and this is more of a comment. i see your getting the typical answers that i get. Go work out, eat right and it's the meds. They don't understand that we already eat right know about working out and gained the weight not as a result of the medication. I wish you all the luck i too am trying to find answers. I gain weight on a weekly basis and people are trying to tell me that from the age of 32 to 33 that it is because of my age and that i need to work out even though i am very ill and cannot. I think people who respond to these questions need to understand that gaining weight so quickly and "out of the blue" when you eat right and have worked out all your life, is not as simple as saying "eat right and go work out" . DUH PEOPLE WE ALREADY KNOW THIS!! TELL HER SOMETHING SHE DOESN'T ALREADY KNOW!!

Are you taking any sort of medications that cause increased weight gain? Read the labels and get refreshed. Also, are you having any unusual pain? I would hate to think there's a large tumor or something. Perhaps it's a simple matter of water weight. Have you tried a water pill yet? Just somethings to think about!
