Take a look at the NZ immigration website as your first port of call, as this contains information on the skilled workers they're looking for - there are separate lists for short and long term shortages. You'll also find information about how to apply and where to find your nearest embassy or high commission for more information.

Go there on vacation first- see if you like it!
It helps if you have a job lined up first. this will speed up application.
Speak to the New Zealand Embassy in your home country.

just do it if youve nothing to loose my brother went over there (Aukland he now lives) with his family (wife 2 kids) in oct 2005 hes lovin every minute of it he snow boards down volcano's and bathes in natural hot springs.
he has a four bedroomed house over looking the beach and the ocean with his own private swimming pool all for a fraction of the price of that in england. he just sold up and moved on you do need to be completely debt free and be able to prove your savings are eligable tho!! other than that just go for it. good luck!!
