The general perception of whites is that blacks are violent, druggies, and do not wish to work hard to succeed. Of course, this is not true in general. Unfortunately, the black community does little to fight these stereotypes. Anyone who tries to move beyond these stereotypes is beaten down by his or her community and told they are trying to "be white." Until the black community recognizes this, there will be no change in their situation. If blacks are leaving, it's for these reasons.
1 in 10 black males is either in jail, on probation, or on parole. There are more blacks in jail than in college.
The black and Latino animosity goes way back.

Hispanic isn't a race so your Costa Rican uncle could be racially White (if he is descended from Europe e.g. Spain.) I'd say that it is a Black on White AND Black on Hispanic Hate Crime.

I never asked the population of L.A. why they hate us? The reason why the Latinos hate Blacks is a few years back it was a drug war going on. Some Blacks stole kilos of cocaine from the Latinos and that started a drug war and turf war. Another reason is that Black men are starting to date and have babies by the Latinas and that's pissing the Latinos off. Also the Hispanics are taking jobs that Blacks refuse to take because of the low pay.

I agree with Victor H from Houston. My job transfered me from Dallas to Long Beach and I'm shocked at the racist, sexist and homophobic comments I've heard from people since I moved here. There is some serious hatred going on between a lot of races here.

Have NO clue what you are talking about...I have lived in L.A. for 20 years and see no specific rascism against African Americans. Do you live in LA and see this problem or are you just talking out your a**??

maybe b/c they see all minority groups except blacks working for a better life and trying to improve their economic situation instead of sitting around blaming all their problems on someone else. If Asians and Latino's can work and maintain a middle class lifestyle, why the hell can't blacks? Maybe now we are seeing that it's not discrimination holding black people back, it's black people holding themselves back.
