how can I capture still images off of video that I've recorded?

We recently got the new JVC Everio, which came with the Cyberlink Power Director and Power Producer software. It records with the file extension .mod

We would like to be able to "Freeze" an image or "Take a Snapshot" of images off of the recorded file. Is this possible?

Try playing your videos with software like PowerDVD. When the image you want is playing, click the little camera icon. Open Photoshop, create new document and click ctrl+v.
There you have it! Save it with a JPEG extension and that's it!
