1. I'm Canadian and we were never foolish enough to allow a religious lobby group to get that put on our money
2. There are also other mystical symbols on your money such as the "all seeing eye" on a pyramid, used by the Free masons, considered to be almost satanic by some christians. Isn't that offensive to christians?
3. Money is just a symbol. I use mostly debit and CC these days anyway
4. Which "god" do you trust in, the money is non-specific on that account. For all I know it is Allah.

1. Only Americans do that. The rest of the world aren't so arrogant to put "god" on their money.

2. Its money. Who cares?

3. That was added in the 50's during the cold war just like the words added to the Pledge of Allegiance. It was added against the Constitution and needs to be removed.

I'm Canadian. There is no mention of God on Canadian money. Just one of the many things I love about this country. I think it's absurd that it's on American money, when the country is comprised not only of Christians, but persons of all religious beliefs, and non-believers too.

Not awkward.
It does make many people wonder about the hypocrisy of a country that gives democracy lessons to the world and that at the same time tramples their own laws like the separation of church and state.

In the UK we have bank notes with Charles Darwin on them-I don't think even evangelical Christians feel it is an issue of importance though. Maybe Americans are just more sensitive.

i do not realize the point in attempting to disclaim human beings their appropriate to freedom of religion. - for sure you do not because you experience it is your appropriate to emphasise your beliefs onto each body. perhaps they purely do not delight in freedom and American values. - we doesn't have a difficulty in case you would enable, through freedom of religion, that we also comprise on the money, In Allah we've self belief, and In Buddha we've self belief, and In Zoroaster we've self belief, and In Shiva we've self belief and about 3000 others. it particularly is freedom of religion, yet no longer one you would understand. The motto isn't inevitably a Christian one both, so why difficulty having it bumped off? - although that is "non secular" and that is offensive to those those who, interior the call of freedom, do no longer have a "faith". back, a idea i'm advantageous you doesn't understand.

I feel scared that I live in a country that is so hypocritical about separation of church and state and doesn't even understand that Jesus would abhor having God's name on money. Jeezus!

awkward, no....offended, yes. I do not think that the Christian God should be mentioned in our money, our pledge, etc. Athiests are not the only people who do not believe in GOD. Different religions celebrate various dieties....however, America seems to only recognize the Christain god.

I'd feel more awkward walking around with no money at all in my pocket.

Do Fundamentalists feel awkward walking around with money with the Masonic "all seeing eye" printed on it?
