Maine Coons are very dog like. Mine comes when he's called, follows me on walks, and even knows a few tricks. He's very easy going and doesn't mind being picked up and plopped into my lap.

He's also big for a cat. He's between seventeen and twenty pounds and that's his fighting weight (if anything he always seems to be on the skinny side, despite having constant access to food.) This makes him bigger than several breeds of lap dogs.

Maine coons are the doggiest cats I've ever known. They also make great mousers.

I think it all depends on the cat. I have a cat that IS a lap dog. She has to be sitting on me all the time. She is just an average domestic shorthair. It's hard to tell with kittens what they will be like as adults though so your best best is to adopt a young adult.

Ragdolls are susposed to be very doglike in their characteristics. With any purebred cat, I'd be careful to get one from a reputable breeder, and make sure it has papers to prove that it's the breed stated.
