I sustained a rather serious injury while in the Marines. My top teeth were all blown out and a few on the bottom were badly cracked. What should my next course of action be? None of the top teeth could be saved.

good advice from MARCY(and nice to know that people appreciate military personals)...
Anywayz, I cannot say anything about how u should cope with ur treatment charges(as in will the military pay for this or not) because i am not an expert in that...although i can give u a few advises regarding ur dental treatment...
well for the top teeth u need a proper replacement because of aesthetics reason(meaning they should like nice when u smile.etc)...IDEAL would be IMPLANTS although implants are a bit expensive and for maxillary teeth(upper teeth) implants are not that successful as lower teeth because of thicker bone in lower jaw...anywayz still implants are successful also in upper teeth..and then theres the issue of time...if u hav a time frame then u should rethink about implants because it does usually takes a few months for complete and proper treatment..
but if i come to advantages then obviously implants are quite advantageous reason being u hav permanant replacement,no hassle of getting removed.etc...its just like a natural tooth...
then ur the other option is bridge..they are cheaper and take much less time....although they appear less natural than implants and in your case if ur front teeth are being replaced then their appearance in case of bridge can be a bit unaesthetic(as compared to implants)....
for ur lower teeth if they are cracked get a ROOT CANAL THERAPY done and have CROWN placed on them(or maybe filled) but CROWN is a better option...
the best thing to do is go to a GOOD DENTIST(for tooth replacement people who are specialists are known as PROSTHODONTISTS and for treatments like RCT the specialist are known as ENDODONTISTS...ALTERNATIVELY THE BEST OPTION WOULD BE TO FIRST GO TO A GOOD GENERAL DENTISTS...best of luck

First of all, thank you for serving our country. I am glad you came back alive, albeit not in one piece. Now I would think the military would be responsible for repair to your injured teeth. If I understand it, all of your top teeth were knocked out? You culd have implants done, or have a false upper plate. For the lower, you could have a bridge made or perhaps implants there as well. As I said, the military should be taking care of this. Have you pursued this? If you are having trouble with them, I think you should find a way to get your needs and point across to them. Write your congressman, etc.

No I haven't, but I have knocked a few out of other peoples mouths. I chipped my 4 top, front teeth while playing flag football in high school. They wouldn't let us girls play tackle football back then. But, being from the south we take our football very seriously. So, us Southern Belles would tackle to get to the flag. LOL That's how my teeth got chipped. I got caught with the ball (I was 6 feet tall & weighed in at 114 lbs.-very skinny) and I got sandwiched between two girls on the opposing team who both weighed in at around 200 lbs. It loosened my teeth, but they didn't come out. I had a friend who had one knocked out once. We stuck it back into the hole in his mouth, put an ice pack on & around it & the oral surgeon was able to stitch the tooth, root and all, back in & save the tooth. He said it was because we continued a blood supply to the tooth. ???

Hopefully they will cover implants, because I can tell you that dentures suck. I have a similar problem and the top plate keeps making me gag because it triggers the nerve for that. Implants are studs set into the jaw bones that they can attach synthetic teeth to.Good luck.
