I was given a small evergreen for Christmas. It kind of looks like a miniature Christmas tree. The branches sort of grow up instead of out and the leaves look like part of the branch - theyr'e barely discernable. I don't think I water it enough because, while it is still very green, it is very dry and sort of crumbled a bit when I watered it today. I want to know what kind it is so I can take better care of it. Thanks.

I think it is Rosemary. Go to any plant store, show them the plant, and ask for help in caring for it.

It looks like some sort of juniper. What does it smell like? Crumble the leaves/needles. If they smell like rosemary, it will be obvious. If it smells like pine or cedar or one of those kinds of smells (how do you describe a smell?)
then it is an evergreen but not an herb. As the other folks said, take it to your local nursery. If the needles are falling off it's thirsy. Give it a good soak.

Probably Rosemary. These are sold at places like OSH.
